The Heart Rhythm Society Launches Live Case Program on Streamlogics Webcast Platform
The Heart Rhythm Society selects Streamlogics to broadcast live procedures online in 2008 for medical practitioner education

TORONTO, Canada (December 20, 2007)

Streamlogics, a leading global provider of webcasting applications and services, today announced the Heart Rhythm Society has selected the Streamlogics webcasting platform to deliver a new initiative to educate geographically dispersed physicians and medical professionals in the field of electrophysiology. Under the terms of the agreement, Streamlogics will provide the webcasting platform and online event management services to deliver live cardiac surgical procedures quarterly in 2008.

The Heart Rhythm Society launched the Reality EP Series on November 29, 2007, where almost 400 physicians, allied professionals, and industry members watched a live cryoablation procedure. The Cryoablation for Atrial Fibrillation case was demonstrated out of the Fuqua Heart Center of Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. "The response from the audience has been very optimistic," said Cynthia Roller, Web Content Coordinator in the Education Department at the Heart Rhythm Society. "About 99 per cent of participants who completed the post-event survey indicated they would watch another Reality EP webcast. We anticipate approximately 2000 individuals will join the live case webcasts in 2008 with an additional 5600 accessing the content on demand." The archived webcasts will be posted online at www.HRSonline.org.

These educational webcasts can be programmed to report exactly how much time each participant spends viewing and listening to the moderator, or interacting through questions, polls or evaluations. In 2008 participants of the Reality EP webcasts will also be able to earn continuing medical education credits.

"Demands on physicians and allied professional competence continue to increase while their time is more limited. Streamlogics' webcasting solution has a sound reputation and presents an excellent medium to deliver new educational programs cost-effectively and reliably," said Cynthia Roller, of the Heart Rhythm Society.

"Our webcast platform and reliable broadcast infrastructure are well suited to deliver the Heart Rhythm Society's live video webcast program", said Shaun McIver, President and CEO of Streamlogics. "These sessions are live, not scripted. Anything can happen so we are pleased to apply our broad experience presenting mission critical events."
